Workout of the day (WOD)
 
The core program of the Buena Vida Fitness Centre is the Workout of the Day. Changed daily, these functional fitness routines build a robust all around fitness, improving strength, stamina, agility, balance, endurance, and coordination. They are designed to strengthen, tone, and increase cardiovascular capability.  This is a full body workout that is completely scaled to the participant’s personal fitness level.   For more information on functional fitness see: Our Philosophy.
 
Trainer led WOD fitness classes are offered throughout the day, and the ‘workout of the day’ will be posted for your convenience.
 
Yoga
 
Flow Yoga (Suitable for beginner to intermediate students) -  Vanessa’s class is a classic form of Vinyasa Yoga.  Vinyasa yoga is a dynamic, strengthening practice, synchronizing the movement and breath while focusing on alignment. This traditional practice warms the body, focuses the mind, and aids the elimination of toxins. Each class is different allowing for a comprehensive exploration and transcendence of the limits of body and mind.
 
Power Yoga (Suitable for intermediate to advanced students) - Larry teaches an Ashtanga- Vinyasa flow practice.  This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures—a process producing internal heat and purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind.
 
Slow and Easy Flow Yoga: for beginners, over 50 or those who may feel physically challenged by many yoga poses due to lower levels of fitness or flexibility, Donna offers this nurturing, more restorative-based class.  Very thorough demonstrations are provided for proper alignment and building of poses, including modification options (not every pose is appropriate for every body at a given time) and holding......with an emphasis to avoid over taxing bones and joints, especially knees, lower back and neck.  A back to basics, ABC's of yoga class focusing on Alignment, Breathing and Consciousness.

  15. Buena Vida Fitness Centre offers basic cardio machines, including a state-of-the-art treadmill and a full-body-workout rowing machine.  A full set of dumb bells, kettle bells, barbells, plate weights, medicine balls and free weights as well as a squat rack and bench for safe lifting are provided.  Various other pieces of exercise equipment are also provided, including mats and exercise balls.
